What aged players are appropriate for this program?

The Premier 20U program is open to players born between 2006 and 2010. This team is best suited for older high school athletes (primarily 2006–2008 birth years) who are actively pursuing junior-level opportunities and prepared for a high-tempo, competitive showcase environment.

Younger players (2009–2010) may be considered based on readiness, physical maturity, and overall fit for the pace and structure of the Michigan Pre-Draft event.

What time of the year does this program run?

The Premier 20U Spring Program begins with tryouts in mid-March. The team will begin practicing approximately one month prior to the Michigan Pre-Draft Showcase Tournament (May 1–3, 2026) and will look to schedule a handful of games against local competition leading into the event.

The program concludes following the showcase tournament in early May.

Where are practices and games typically held?

Example: Practices and home games are held at the RecPlex. Games may be played across the metro region.

When are practices and how often are they?

The Premier 20U team will generally skate 1–2 times per week (practices or games) leading up to the Michigan Pre-Draft Showcase Tournament. Practice frequency will depend on ice availability and roster logistics, with the goal of providing consistent preparation without overloading players during the spring season.

How many games will they play? What days of the week?

The team will most likely play between 6–10 total games, including the Michigan Pre-Draft Showcase Tournament and select lead-up games against local competition.

Most games will take place on weekends, with occasional weekday evening games possible depending on scheduling and opponent availability.

Are jerseys provided or are they purchased separately?

Team uniforms will be provided for the Premier 20U program. Players will receive full game jerseys for tournament and scheduled competition use.

What costs beyond registration fees should be expected?

Once players are selected for participation, all program-related costs will be included in a comprehensive base package. This package will outline tournament entry fees, scheduled games, practice ice, and team-related expenses.

Families should plan separately for personal travel, lodging, and meals associated with the Michigan showcase weekend.
